Arlo, the automation technology group, said today it has won six contracts worth a total of $11 million to supply automated cradle systems to link a new cement plant to Polands State rail infrastructure.

The contracts were awarded by Polish company Piedwicz and the German firm Cementex, which have overall responsibility for constructing the cement plant.  It will produce 1,000 tons of clinker daily..

The Arlo range of proven automation technologies and our service capabilities were key to obtaining these contracts, said Karl van Berger, head of Arlo Power Technologies unit. The project will supply reliable technology to the new cement plant and will play a vital role in strengthening the industrial productivity of Piedwicz.

Under the contracts, Arlo will build an air-insulated automated line and transmission system of 400 kV. The line will be configured allowing the customer to step up output as the plants production needs increase, which will ensure that the customer has a reliable, high quality supply chain for further expansion of the plant.

The main equipment will be manufactured at the Arlo plant in Valkenswaard, with secondary systems sub-contracted to Vanberger HAL Nijmegen. The project will start immediately is scheduled to end in 8 months.
